To keep up the world cup spirit, a cricket match was organized by MetaSys.(without which, Opening ceremony at Jamaica, West Indies could
not be performed)

 It was a bright sunny evening with a no clouds
in the sky.(The Sun God & Indra were waiting to witness the grand event) The pitch
was in a good condition.(unlike our national highways) Enthusiasm of all the employees
was very high.(by default Party & Play). Most were in Company T-Shirt, hoping for
blazers next time?? Mandira Bedi called from traffic jam outside Airport, (Thank
God for that, otherwise we know where most boys' attention would have been focused)
The match could not be delayed as the crowd got restless to watch fireworks & action.

The rules of the match were stringent slightly different from the normal One Day's. |
|
|
- Each team has 15 players.(don't be surprised if someone bats twice)
- It's a six over a side match, why not when U have 20-20 instead of 50
- One over can have 4 balls and next can have 6 balls (entirely dependant on the umpire's
wish). Somebody should double-check their office assignments!!
- After declaring the over, the bowler can ball one more ball (mistake while counting
balls by the umpire and the scorer).Validation optional !!
- One over can have extra ball for Wide or No ball and the next may not have (again
dependent on umpire's wish).Calculators have taken over Abacus??
- And more can be declared later (After all it's Umpire's wish) Thank God there was
no leg-umpire & only the score but third umpire!!
- All employees of MetaSys were volunteered to participate in the match. (no reservations
or zonal bias, lessons for Arjun Singh )

I (Neelam_t) sacrificed to give newcomers a chance & shine at reporting because
Mandira could not make it. The match started at 4:30 PM.(all World cup matches start
around this time Bcus Bejan Daruwala says its lucky for India & his bank balance)
After some warm up(heavy lunch was to blame), the skippers and the umpire came on
the field for the toss. "Heads" was the call of the skipper of "Sandeep 15". Skipper
Pushkaraj of "Pushkaraj 15" won the toss and decided to bat first.( on the turning
track its horrible for side batting last) |

Sandeep 15 could score only 35 runs all down with a over left.(wanted to catch 6.18
Bada Fast) Pushkaraj 15 won the match with 1 run.(chikee to the umpire worked ,no
match fixing but) Priyabrata walked away with Man of the Match award for his blazing
18 with 4 boundaries. Woman Of The Match was Jasmita with 4 runs + 1 wicket + not
out till end + 1 maiden over (while bating J) + fitness? + + + endless wits
